- 🍀Lucky Lane Bovril 🍀 Super all rounder - perfect first PC pony! We have had the privilege of owning Bovril for almost two years and have loved every minute! Our 13 year old daughter does him entirely by herself. Her dad (who is not at all equestrian and is quite scared of horses) will even lead him in from the field and pick out his feet - entirely saintly! Bovril wouldn't dream of misbehaving, so has never bitten, kicked, reared or bucked. His manners are impeccable. He's good to load, travel, clip, bath, stands for the farrier, dentist, vets, tacking up, mounting etc. No vices. 90% of the time he's good to catch - on the odd occasion he may decide he's not ready to come in if his friends are still out in the field, a bowl of chaff or a carrot does the trick (and yes, even dad can bring him in!) Under the saddle, Bovril is a forward and uncomplicated ride. He loves to hack, alone or in company. Foot perfect on the roads, unphased by tractors, lorries, motorbikes, cyclists, dogs. Our 13 year old daughter hacks him out alone and with friends. We trust him entirely to keep her safe. Jumping is Bovril's happy place! We are members of PC attending SJ rallies, pole work clinics, lessons and competitions with him. He's usually in the ribbons and always attracts lovely comments from onlookers. Last year, he had a minor injury in his stifle. Has since had the all clear from the vet, and is most comfortable jumping around 70. He loves his XC and is always bold and scopey over anything you put in front of him. He never stops or looks twice at anything. He is happy through water, ditches, banks, logs, steps. He has never stopped and to date has never knocked a pole! He will go at his rider's pace and adjust to their ability. He's very careful and completely loves his job. For this reason, we think he would make a perfect first PC pony to show someone the ropes ❤️ In open spaces, Bovril is forward and safe and can favour a good blast if he is allowed. Usually he's happy to be told when he can go, but sometimes might need a check to wait for his rider. My daughter was a nervous novice when she first had him, and he has developed so much confidence in her. Bovril hunted in his previous home and we were told he was super at this too, however this isn't something we have done with him. We have taken him to the beach and he loved it! His flatwork is established and he has three lovely collected paces. Bovril won't just go to any home. He really deserves the very best. 19 years young and doesn't look his years. Bovril has been sadly outgrown by his adoring rider. Since advertising Bovril two of his previous owners have contacted us so we now know his full history! He has a British Eventing record and also won Pony Club National Dressage Championships 🥰 We think he would be ideal for a confident 8-12yo at old looking to go out and have some fun.
