- 143cm Spanish bred sports pony. Great all rounder, can turn his hoof to anything and always in the ribbons. Frequently competed in unaffiliated competitions, up to elementary dressage, 80cm show jumping (schooled higher at home) and frequent winner at riding club working hunter shows. Been to Trailblazers past 2 years in both dressage and combined training and came home with multiple rosettes and prize money. Also finished 2nd at the recent unaffiliated show jumping championships at Aintree Equestrian Centre even though he was in the senior class and easily the smallest pony in the ribbons. Hacks alone or in company, happy to potter in walk or can keep up the pace with much bigger horses. Frequently been on fun rides and beach rides and has XC schooled. Has been out cross country chasing and easily covers the ground to keep up with the field and seen hedges as well as logs and rails. Great to catch, load (into a box or trailer), clip, with farrier and dentist. Cal does have 2 small sarcoids on his flank, they don't affect him at all and remain unchanged for over 5 years but price reflects this. He is a very intelligent pony and although he has been ridden by complete beginners and novices would not be suited to a home where this is his only job as he gets bored quickly and will then start to misbehave, however could be shared between more novice and experienced siblings/mother & child. He does challenge new riders but this quickly settles if you ride him assertively. Finding the right home for Cal is of paramount importance, he is for sale through no fault of his own and we will be totally open and honest to try and make the process as smooth as possible. He would be the perfect pony for a confident older child/teen/small adult to get out competing but who is on a budget.
