Description
I’ve made the heartbreaking decision for Percy to find his forever home. 16.1 10yr old thoroughbred gelding. Percy has been with me for five months, retraining to do a job outside of racing. Percy has always came home in the ribbons right from his very first show, he has done several combined trainings where he placed 2nd each time. Arena eventing where he placed 8th. Arena hires and cross country hires always impeccably behaved. Percy competed at his first one day event this month proving very bold and brave in the jumping sphere. He’s good against to clock and quite careful so could easily do BS. Finishing 22nd out of a class of 30+. Percy is good to hack alone and company. Good in all traffic. Percy is good for the dentist, to shoe, to catch, to bath, to pull his mane, to groom and to load and travel. Percy stands patiently on the box whilst you walk your course/get a burger etc. Stands tied to the box all day long whilst waiting around for classes. Percy turns out with mares and geldings no bother. Percy is an absolute darling to have around he loves a cuddle so someone wanting a horse to love just as much to ride is very important. Percy has three lovely elastic paces, his schooling is coming on nicely but does still need someone that is happy to play around schooling to upkeep what he has learnt. Percy is a foward thinking horse that enjoys fulfilling a job. Percy’s quirks- Percy can get a jig jog on towards home, he’s never aloud to jig jog, this has improved with patience, confidence and repetition. Percy is particularly foward out hacking on grass. However, he has always been snaffle mouthed with me. He can be bouncy and chuck a fly buck in if he’s particularly fresh. Percy is sedated to be clipped as he can get abit worried. Sedated he is fine. Percy found dressage abit exciting out on grass eventing, he didn’t put a foot wrong was just foward and very busy. This I believe will improve with time and patience.
