Approx 15.2 (Would measure), 6 year old Irish cob. Sid is a lovely, top quality cob that enjoys a variety of jobs! He absolutely loves his hacking, alone or in company, good in open spaces. Schools sweetly but still a little green in this area so not the finished article yet. Pops a jump and has a super, bold jump, he thinks jumping is great fun and would be an absolutely brilliant hunting cob. He is a lovely ride, not a kick along but not speedy. The perfect mix of safe but fun!
He would go on and do any job with a smile on his face. He happily works in the school but I feel he would get bored if this is all he did (can’t blame him!) therefore he’d be best suited to a home that wants to do a bit of everything - showing/working cobs/riding club/fun rides/hunting etc. He is very very sweet to handle, a kind horse who loves attention and is so easy to have around, easy to shoe/catch/load/clip. Sid is a brilliant student, soaks everything up like a sponge and really tries his hardest! Ridden here by lightweight teenage girl and a 6 foot male rider so takes up the leg well for a taller rider but polite enough for a lady.
Sid has had a 5 stage vetting and just came up a bit positive to flexion on left hind. Fine on exercise/hard circle etc so it was just after flexion, was only mild and he trotted out of it pretty quickly. Therefore he is offered with this in mind at a much reduced price, he’s easily a 10k + cob in this market at his quality. Vet still passed him as suitable for hunting/hacking etc. He’s fine day to day and has no issues being shod, farrier didn’t feel he had any issue holding that leg and felt he was the same in both hinds, I.e no stiffer on the left, felt fine.
I am selling him on behalf of his owner.
Freshly shod, first jab done (was restarted after they lapsed last year due to no show season), regularly wormed and just wormed again.
