- Rising 5 year old, 145cm Connemara gelding: I love you melody/Oisin.
We bought Roscoe as an untouched 3 year old and imported him direct from Ireland. We have produced him professionally, positively and slowly with his future in mind. He is very willing enjoying his work, with a lot of talent!
Roscoe has big movement, he has lovely hind legs and feels very powerful under saddle - he has a big engine. His canter is balanced and correct with a lovely rhythm and takes up the ground. He has a nice mouth, with a lovely contact and listens to the seat nicely - I love working him on the flat. Having said that, we still hack a lot, Roscoe naturally has it all and doesn’t need to be over schooled, he picks things up very easily and for his age he is very established.
He has started jumping under saddle, but not over jumped and bearing his future and age in mind. I have noticed that he is pulling to the fence and really loves to jump, enjoying each jumping session which has always been positive. He has a big jump, does learn from his mistakes and has a big career ahead of him.
He hacks out alone around the farm track and in company off site, but he leads the way confidently and enjoys being in front, but also happy plodding at the back. He has been off site to farm rides etc. meeting new things and seeing the world.
I feel Roscoe has unlimited potential in either SJ or dressage and I will only sell him to a knowledgeable home. We have a few clinics booked over this next month and have some training shows to attend-we are not in a rush to sell him.
Everything is up to date, we have a trailer and loads and travels beautifully (although I haven’t travelled him alone yet). No vices ridden or in the stable and is ridden and handled by my 12 year old daughter. We swapped ponies over Christmas and I enjoyed watching Roscoe step down and look after my daughter.
He has a scar under his right eye, we jump so never affected us. My friend had some white make up and showed me how well it can be covered up-it did the job! He would make a nice WH pony too.
He would be well suited to a small adult, competent teen with experienced parents or mother/daughter share.
Genuine reason for sale, as would like to focus on 138s and struggling with time due to family, work and school. Included made to measure saddle and would love to keep in touch.
