Sad sale of a dream that hasn't worked out!
We have for sale my daughters 13.1 pony. She had been having riding lessons for a couple of years when we bit the bullet and purchased a pony for her. Now, i must stress, me and my husband have no idea about horses, but we wanted to see our girl happy and make her dreams come true! And, boy have we learnt alot 🤣
We got Bertie from a dealer - sold as suitable as a first pony. We have pictures and videos of him riding, jumping and at shows. At 14 years we thought he had been there done that type pony so perfect.
And to begin with, he was pretty perfect. But, the more forward he got, the more nervous my daughter got and its ended with her not wanting to ride. She spends her time sitting on him in the stable or when he's tied up, and grooming him! A couple of women at our yard have ridden him to show our daughter and try to boost her confidence, and he's been perfect, but my daughter still doesnt want to ride. We believe he needs a confident rider. Looking back at the pictures of his previous owner, she was an older teenager/young lady, not a 10 year old. We have pictures and videos of Bertie riding and jumping in his previous home.
My daughter hasn't ridden since before Christmas and doesn't want to 😪 therefore he is sold from the field.
I have hundreds of pictures of Bertie. He is up to date with wormer, dentist and vaccinations. He is 15yrs old. He does not wear shoes, great for the farrier. Does need some sedation for the dentist. He has a wither twitch that hes always had but has never bothered him.
Please no advice on what we should of done, we are just parents trying to do our best for our girl and we failed ðŸ˜
