We are sadly selling our beautiful Poppy. She is 10 years old 13hh and a Welsh x.
My granddaughter has had great fun on her but she is outgrowing her far quicker than I had hoped and Poppy had brought her riding on tremendously. Poppy is a finely built pony and doesn’t take up the leg like some chunkier types. She is a kind friendly pony who loves to be fussed over. She is easy to handle on the ground and is well mannered. She is good to catch, barefoot but good for the farrier, good to load but can occasionally need the lunge rope to touch her bum. She sees it and walks up!! Happy to travel alone or with company.
She is a forward fun pony, easy to handle, well behaved in the stable and generally an easy pony to love. My granddaughter has attended numerous pony club rallies, show jumping, cross country and prince philip training. ( although never competed in games but would do well we just didn’t have the time to commit). She is always well behaved and happy to wait her turn. They have attended pony club camp and over night shows where she settles immediately and enjoys being out and about. Last summer they went to pony club mini champs jumping 50 & 60cm. The previous summer Poppy was placed in the top three at both heights with her previous rider. She has taught my granddaughter the ropes of show jumping however we feel 60cm is Poppy’s optimum height as beyond this she can occasionally stop at jumps. This may not be the case with a more experienced rider.
My granddaughter started hunting for the first time this season, with Poppy. They have both had a great time. Poppy proving to be a forward fun ride, but safe and well mannered as well. She stands quietly at the meet and will stay out all day. She would be an ideal pony for a regular hunting family.
My granddaughter who was ten when we bought her does all the day to day care of Poppy independently and has come to love her very much therefore a knowledgeable loving
home is very important. Up to date with vaccinations, comes with tack.
