- Esme (Samba Time)
Very well bred - Black Sam Bellamy x Tikk Tokk (TIkkanen)
16/16.1hh TB grey mare
Ex racehorse - hurdled 6 times showed no promise, record available online
Bought straight from training in April last year, brought on slowly through summer hacking alone and in company and showing promise in dressage, sj and xc. Has been cross county schooling jumping a variety of 55-75cm jumps and been round 2 local hunter trials growing in confidence further she went - very easy to take round with a nice springy clean jump. Just needs more practice and she should develop into a nice xc horse and having hurdled she’ll be more than capable of going round an 80/90cm course. Has done a small SJ comp at ISEC and clear rounds again nice clean jump but needs to build up experience and confidence - currently just a bit anxious. With practice i anticipate she’ll be a capable showjumper and fast against the clock as she’s extremely light on her feet. Done a few dressage tests showing nice steps just needing to work on contact and bend. Liked by the judges and stands quietly in the warm up. Confident she’ll progress into a horse capable of doing an ODE and even BE. Could equally see her doing BS or BD. Videos available to verify the above.
Done a small rideout (fixed route in a large group) early on - sweated with nerves but showed no issues in car park, standing in town surrounded by people or going through fields in a large group. Not strong. Settled a lot into a non racing lifestyle since then so far less nervous and don’t expect her to have any issue doing fun rides, rideouts or hunting. Anticipate she’ll be a fab ladies hunter.
Striking mare with a lovely manner - real potential in the show ring. Everyone who meets her describes her as pretty and sweet.
Vaccinations, teeth and shoes all done this month, not sick or sorry, worming up to date, had the physio and no issues.
Absolutely no vices - never seen to bite or kick, good to handle on the ground and with other horses
Good to catch clip shoe load etc
She’s only ever been at one racing yard and only hurdled 6 times before I got her so she is green and still young for her age lacking life experience. Reason for sale is that I’m looking to compete straight away and she’s more of a project than I was looking for. Reluctant sale - if I had the time and money I’d keep her and bring her on. Wouldn’t be surprised if in a year or two’s time I’ll regret selling her if I see her out competing!
This is her first winter out of training and new routine/ restricted turnout/ irregular exercise/ access to haylage means she is fresh and can be sharp/flick her back end as a result. She was out 24/7 during the summer and was as good as gold, never put a foot wrong. She’s been ridden sporadically through December/ January but is fresh so is to be considered as sold from field.
No loan or LWVTB - she is a TB and thus not suitable for novices.
Good home a priority.
