- Incredibly sad sale of our ride and drive pony. Spirit is a 4year old, 13 1hh gypsy cob. He was driven before he came to us, and has been ridden over the last 2.5 years with us.
Spirit is full of character. He's like a big dog (of fluffy teddy bear at the mo 😆) He craves attention, everyone laughs how happy he looks with himself whenever he's in the stable. He'll be brushed all over for hours. He's super polite on the ground, can be lead and loaded by little people.
Spirit has been ridden by my 12 year old daughter and is ready to go further with a competent lightweight older child/ small adult. Otherwise I'd be more than happy for him to go to a home where he'll be fussed by little people as he's most happy when he has tones of attention. He's looked after plenty of smaller leid rein children and happy to walk and trot steadily with novices.
Spirit canters lovely out hacking along the verges. However of you're going to ask more of him with his schooling he will need a competent rider with clear communication to get the most out of him. He appreciates the kind approach and can l still throw a buck in canter if he's being asked to work hard. He's young, but has so much potential for the right person.
Spirit is fantastic hacking, he hacks out on his own or first or last in a group. He's absolutely bomb proof with traffic, machinery, trailers, bikes, dogs etc. In the school he's walked over trampoline mats, tarpaulin, through glittery curtains without blinking an eye. He let's the rider hang off and pick up flags, he really isn't phased by much at all.
Spirit has excellent ground manners, he really is a pleasure to hang out with, always interested in what you are doing and just loves it in a stable. He falls asleep being clipped. Perfect to trim. He loads/unloads perfectly every time and travels quietly and happily. Never been sick or sorry... we've had him over two years and we haven't had any soreness, lameness, nothing at all. I really can't praise this pony enough, we're going to really miss him.
This is a really sad sale of a much loved pony so looking for the best of homes for him.
