We bought Marley 3.5 years ago as a lead rein for our then 6 year old daughter. He was brilliant at teaching her to ride and she was off the lead within a year - she has now outgrown him.
They have been in Pony Club for the past two plus years, attending many rallies - SJ, Cross Country and Flat Work lessons and two residential camps. They also attended the local agricultural show pony classes and Gymkhana last year. Our daughter has had a fantastic time with him.
As a 2nd pony he would do well with a confident rider. We have only ever ridden him in a snaffle though. He has enjoyed his outings hunting - behaving perfectly at lawn meets, good with hounds and proving to be bold and brave when it comes to jumping and navigating difficult terrain. We only ever hunted him on the lead from another horse due to daughters confidence. He would stay out all day. Also many happy hours hacking across open fields, forestry and the school run. He loves a fun ride and our daughter rode alongside me off the lead last summer.
He is good to handle, groom & in traffic (we live on a farm with heavy machinery), good to shoe (was barefoot when we bought him, but we have front shoes on every 8-10 weeks), good for dentist and osteopath. We do give him a 1/3 sedation tube for clipping. Up to date with teeth and vaccinations.
Plenty more photos and videos on request.
