- Very tentatively looking for a new home for my gorgeous Duke - a sort very hard to find! ‘Buckland Luke Duke’ is a 14h 5 year old new forest pony with a wonderful temperament. I brought him last year as a 4 year old and broke him in myself with the aim to sell him at the end of summer - however got too attached! He has been produced slowly and carefully, has attended some pony club rallies and clear round shows and won his first competition, has been cross country schooling and didn’t put a foot wrong. He hacks well and is never strong or silly, has been hacked by a novice. He is forward and will pull you into the jumps and shows the attitude to make a top jumping pony. He is a delight to handle on the ground and is perfect for the farrier and dentist. He is excellent to clip and loads himself into the lorry. He was previously based on a farm and isn’t phased by tractors/lorry’s etc. He loves to be around people and being everyone’s bestfriend. He has a large amount of scope and lovely paces and I feel like he will go very far in the right hands. Especially in the showjumping or eventing world! I have absolutely no doubt he will make a super competition/pony club/NSEA pony. Duke is a very quick learner, and is still young therefore a confident rider and knowledgeable 10* home is a MUST. He will not be going to just anyone. Ideal home would be a younger confident jockey with experienced parents/trainers to make sure he is doing things correct or an older sibling/small adult who can also sit on him and help educate him due to his age. He is currently being ridden by a 10 year old girl once a week and has been handled by small children. This is an extremely sad sale of a much loved pony, if he was 16h we would keep him forever, however I am around 5’8 and have GCSES and struggling to give him the time he needs for his education alongside my event horse. He really will make a top class competition/pony club pony if his correct education is continued. We will continue to take him out and about as much as possible until he has sold - his price will increase the more he does. Hundreds of photos of videos available on request.
