- Genuine all-round schoolmaster – small cob type For sale with full wardrobe - £8,000. Tubby is a 13.2hh, 13 yr old, black gelding with the biggest heart and most adorable personality. He is a perfect second pony for a balanced rider who is ready to progress to the next stage. We have owned him for 2.5 years and he has taught my daughter so much but sadly she is now too big for him so we are looking for his forever home. A perfect teacher to really bring your child on, or as a mother daughter share for a smaller adult Tubby is a genuine all-round school master, working correctly on the flat, over trot poles, and jumping courses up to 70cm. He has been well schooled and jumps in a quiet balanced rhythm and works nicely through grids and bounces. We have taken him cross country schooling and competed unaffiliated show jumping. He works both on and off lead rein in walk, trot and canter and is a reliable fun hack. A genuinely lovely, straightforward pony. He hacks alone or in company, is not a spooky type and is happy to go in front or behind, not bothered by heavy farm machinery, traffic, dogs, kids, pigeon shoots, trains etc. Easy for a non-horsey mum to do on the ground and will really teach your child technique. He’s very amenable and 100% to Shoe/clip/ load/ catch etc. Tubby has mild sweet itch but this is easily managed with rugs (included) and garlic... he doesn't lose hair or stop working.
