Description
Heartbreaking sale of our much loved and very talented 138cm (LHC) competition pony. Hugo never comes home without rosettes, this pony is a competitive child's dream. His winnings are too many to mention, having won at Hickstead, won at Rectory Farm Pony Club Regional Champs qualifiers, he's currently the NSEA SJ Berkshire County Champion, qualified Royal International Horse Show for WHP, 1st in his first British Show jumping 80cm BN outing plus tons of others. He's fun, forward, scopey, athletic, brave and bold. SJ - Hugo's unbeatable against the clock, turns on a sixpence, careful and technically accurate, he adjusts his stride, does flying changes and always corrects himself even around the tightest jump off. XC - he's an absolute machine, flying over anything in his stride - ditches, water, hedges, any combination and all with his ears pricked and the most positive attitude, he just loves his job and is brave and bold. DR - he has beautifully established flatwork, having been produced carefully and correctly as a youngster and then had regular schooling and flatwork lessons his whole life to ensure correct balance and rhythm. He's forward and responsive to the leg and seat. He knows his job, his last DR score was 22.5. Eventing - this is where he really excels. With his talent he could easily be a pure SJ or pure DR pony and get to the top with a rider who wants to focus on either of those, but he just loves XC and proves himself so brave, bold and athletic that we'd ideally like him to go to a home where he can still enjoy XC. He's great to clip, catch load and in the heaviest of traffic, hacking alone or in company. Absolutely no vices, a total superstar in every respect. He's been to Pony Club camp every year, attends rallies and has had a go at all disciplines, excelling in everything he turns his hoof to - Eventing, SJ, XC, DR, Working Hunter and I'm sure he'd love hunting, we just haven't done this with him. He is a sharp, buzzy, intelligent competition pony and most definitely not suitable for a nervous or novice rider. He has been amazing with my daughter, who moved off her easy 12.2 straight onto him, but she is confident and competitive. He is fit, well fed and out competing, so would require a bit of patience and lessons to step down a level for a smaller, less experienced rider. He loves his creature comforts and although might be happy living out, it's important to us that he goes to a home who will cherish him and look after him like we have. This special pony has given us his absolute heart and soul and has given my daughter so much fun, winning so many competitions, enjoying Pony Club, NSEA, BS, Eventing and most importantly he's kept her safe and given her total confidence through all of it. I owe him a 10 star home, so please only contact me if you can offer this, thank you. Please WhatsApp for tons of videos.
