- Indigo is an 18-year-old black Welsh x hackney 148cm mare. We have owned Indy for six years and she has been an absolute pleasure. She was originally purchased for my daughters to jump BSJA. She competed successfully up to and including Newcomers, Indy’s forte is speed, she was placed in many classes. Prior to us owning her she was owned and ridden by a mature lady who hacked her all around the village and fields. Although she did not compete her Indy was competed for her in BS seniors by a professional adult My daughters jumped Indy for four years as a pony. Sadly, after that time they had outgrown her. Indy went to live with two early teenage cousins where she remained for two years, until she was again sadly outgrown. We are now looking for another home for her, Indy, she is far too young and full of life to grow fat standing in our field. She is a prancy pony but not a strong pony, she is nicely schooled and great fun to ride. However she is not a first pony, or suited to a beginer/novice rider. She is totally safe to hack out on the roads and across the fields. You can take her anywhere with or without company. She absolutely loves cross country and flies over the obstacles without giving them a second glance. She still enjoys her show jumping but now she is happier jumping 80 than anything bigger. She is really well-mannered her worst vice is being fidgety especially when getting on but my children who never made her stand are to blame for that not her! We have never known her to bite, kick, rear, bolt or buck. She is very well behaved with the vet and with the farrier. Indy, although happy in a stable prefers to live out, coming in for special occasions like the day before a show. She is used to being turned out with mares and geldings. Indy is full of fun, she is sparky and forward going . As well as my daughters riding her, I have enjoyed hacking her out myself. She is an ideal mother and daughter share.
