Surprise is rising 13yrs approx. 13.2hh appoloosa X cob. Came over from Ireland in 2016 which she then joined our riding school for 4.5yrs until we started winding down, she then went off to a private dressage based home for approx. 18months when she was outgrown I bought her back.
She is an incredibly fun little pony who loves having a job. She hacks alone and in company, she’s not as confident on her own in heavy traffic but doesn’t do anything either. She is a proper speed machine and can be strong but she’s not what I’d call sharp. She’ll happily walk march along or will charge around but when asked to stand she will. She is well schooled on the flat but this is by far from her favourite thing, after years of riding school and then dressage she’d rather go show jumping etc than run round in circles endlessly, she’s happy in the school though. I’ve completed lots of fun rides on her alone and with company where I mainly walk along with the occasional canter, I’m too old for charging around now.
She is a typical mare that wants company but at a distance (she likes her personal space). I think she lived with race horses over in Ireland as she is very guarded around other horses.
She is 100% to bath, clip, shoe, box/lorry, travel etc etc but she doesn’t like lots of people fussing around her for long periods of time.
Up to date with teeth & vaccinations. Currently bare foot but has been shod all round as and when needed with no issues.
Lives on thin air and will happily live in or out.
She has to be ridden in a nosenet all year round due to a pollen allergy and will head shake, she is bedded on straw and has no respiratory issues and during the summer months we turn her out in a full face mask. She has never had any issues other than sneezing and head shaking without having her nose covered.
She has been out of full work for some months now but is ridden around once a week or so just ticking over. Surprise doesn’t change if she’s not ridden for months on end but equally becomes calmer when in full time work.
Sad sale but with having a young family I’m not giving her anywhere near the time she deserves so it’s time to find her a better home. Comes with full wardrobe and tack (Henry James bridle & native pony saddle)
No loans or LWVTB
