- Very well bred sporty and flashy pure bred Knabstrupper 2019 gelding bred locally in Northumberland. Full details of breeding available. Very sad sale of this boy loved by all of our family. Sale forced by lack of time and focus on exams. Currently standing at 15.1-2 to make 15.3 Merlin is one of very few pure bred Knabstruppers in the world. He is a rare solid coloured example of the sports Knabstrupper breed. He’s a real head turner with a handsome honest face and such kind eyes. Loves a cuddle too! Merlin is an easy going well-mannered and polite boy. We have taken the time to back and produce him slowly at home. He has been ridden away over the winter and he has proven to be happy and eager to please with no issues. Very intelligent and quick to learn, he has already been to local poles on the floor competitions and taken everything entirely in his stride. He is regularly hacked out and schooled by my 14 year old daughter and is a pleasure to have around. He stands for the farrier (though has good strong feet and not yet shod) and is used to clippers. He has good correct balanced paces in the school. There isn’t a nasty bone in his body, he isn’t the type to buck you off. Not phased by traffic, currently on a farm and is used to large farm machinery, snaffle mouthed and easy to be around on the ground and in the stable. No ridden or stable vices. A stunning head turner who will attract lots of attention as an all rounder with dressage, SJ or eventing potential.
