- Benji is a 15-year-old coloured Irish Sports horse. We’ve had him for 8 months, and in that time he has taught our 15 year old daughter so much. He has been her first “proper” horse and she has started her eventing journey on him, including a win at Breckenbrough Hunt ODE 80 and 5th place at Northallerton Brigante Cup 80. Benji is a forward but safe ride, and he loves hacking, fun rides, hunting, the beach and XC. He also works nicely on the flat. He has taken part in all sorts of PC activities, including camp & teams. He’s bomb proof in traffic, and is a laid back, kind lad; just a lovely person to have around. His previous owners bought him as an unbroken 4-year-old and owned him for 10 years. Benji saw both their daughters through PC and BE, and he even spent a season as a whips horse out hunting with their dad! Benji is only for sale because we feel he is struggling with the level of work we’re asking of him, so we think he needs a quieter life. He still enjoys jumping, but we are retiring him from eventing and are looking for someone who can enjoy doing other activities with him. We have his full veterinary history (both with us and his previous owner), which we’re happy to share. Benji is great with the farrier & vet, and is well-mannered both on the ground & mounted. He has no quirks or vices and he travels well in a trailer or lorry. He’s a laid-back person and a fun ride.
