Heartbreaking sale of our much loved boy due to being outgrown! If only we could stick him in a grow bag 😰 This little palomino is the best pony a child could ask for. A dream to handle on the ground, a loving gentle nature and loves kisses. Sammy came into our lives almost 3yrs ago at a point when my daughter was at an all time low, increasingly becoming defeated and nervous with the pony she had. In the past 3yrs Sammy has taught my daughter to jump and given her confidence beyond belief. She has gone from nervously jumping crosspoles to competing in unaffiliated showjumping up to 80cm. Together they have done everything! Showjumping, Workers, Cross Country, Showing, Hunting, Pony Club Rallies, Pony Club Camp, polework clinics, beach rides and 3hr hacks 🤣 … you name it, they’ve done it! Sammy is a competitive pony, who loves his job! He knows exactly what’s required in a jump off and knows he’s in it to win it. If he’s unsure of something he will slow down and come to a halt, no dirty stops or throwing his jockey out the side door … however takes his lead from his rider and has been known to clear 70cm from a standstill 🤩 He can be sticky with a water tray, however again with a confident child he can be bossed over it. We’ve never really focused on water trays as he’s done more showjumping than workers. Sammy is ridden in a snaffle 80% of the time, however for hunting he wears a butterfly pelham as he gets excited and when the adrenaline takes over he can become strong. He likes to be up front too! He’s recently worn his pelham for Workers as he’s not quite got the memo that there’s no jump off for workers 🙈 He’s a forward pony, easy off the leg, and a competent child could easily put him into a contact. He’s always in the ribbons, a true winner 🤩 Sammy is good in traffic although not keen on tractors, if his rider is competent and reassures him he’s fine. He’s good to bath, clip, farrier and is up to date with vaccinations, worming, physio and teeth. Sammy has a small mouth and requires teeth done every 6 months to prevent him getting mouth ulcers. He’s fab at the beach too. Never been lame or had laminitis. Sammy will quite happily walk through open fields however if in a group he’s been known to jog as he just wants to gallop off and win the race. For a competent child he can be held back but this pony just wants to have fun. We’re looking for a competent child who’s ready to take the next step from a first pony. Someone who wants to do a variety of disciplines and who’s ready to go out and have fun. While he could step back to lead rein/novice, we feel he would be wasted at this level as he loves his job and has so much to teach a more confident child. Sammy will come with tack, rugs, snuggy hoods etc. We’d love to stay in touch! For a million more photos or videos please get in touch.
