- Barney. Barney is looking for his new super home to have lots of fun with. 11.2 15 year old gelding. Welsh sec A. Lead rein or 2nd pony. NOT FR for a learner or a child that isn’t very confident because he’s forward and off the leg, brilliant for games and a child that loves something a little more speedy. A reluctant sale as we love him loads but my daughter has now moved up a size in ponies. We’ve owned Barney for 2.5 years and he’s taken my daughter off rein. We’ve spent the last year off lead. He’s on loan atm as a lead rein pony. Barney is an all round super little pony. Been there, done it, got the t-shirt! He’s a pony club pony through and through, he’s done all the rallies, loves jumping and games. Beach rides, camps, local shows and Xc sessions. He stands like a rock to be pampered, loves being fussed over. Will let the children lead him into the trailer, stand on him, slide down his bum. Doesn’t even bat an eye! He’s brilliant for farrier(bare foot) , vet, dentist, traffic, clip etc etc. Typical Welsh pony so can be spooky and cheeky. He’ll give a cheeky buck with a ‘make me attitude’ but only every so often. With a confident jockey he is perfect and will bring a lot of fun. He goes by voice command for lead rein, you just have to think trot or canter and he falls into it sweetly. Barney ideally needs to live out 24/7 and would suit a quieter home rather than a busy livery yard. He can live in a herd with mares and geldings. He has no health issues and has never had laminitis. He’s a very good do’er. This is a very sad sale, he’s very much loved by everyone that knows him. He has a super character and will shout when he sees you. I have millions of videos and photos.
