- Cali is an extremely talented mare. Not only is she talented, she is one of the most gentle, people loving, kind horses I have ever crossed paths with. She’s ridden in a rubber bit at all times as she’s so careful in the mouth. Never been strong or silly. The rubber bit doesn’t change if it’s schooling, to XC, show jumping or a hack, she’s so respectful in the mouth. Cali has competed to fences of 1.30m and has scope to clear. She’s extremely careful and makes sure her feet do not touch the poles. She would be great if you are levelling up from classes of around 1m and looking to start going higher, or just if you love doing the big fences with a sensible horse! Whilst she is never strong or silly, she needs to be ridden confidently to get her over the fences (as with any showjumping horse). She is a dream for the farrier and dentist. She loves fuss, will stand to be groomed all day. She’s happy to live in. Haven’t tested her living out yet but I’m sure she wouldn’t have a problem as she’s turned out the majority of the day anyway. She just doesn’t like being out in heavy rain (but who would!) She’s an absolute pleasure and I love her dearly. I am only selling her due to her being a waste with me. I have had a few years out of riding due to having a baby and just can’t get myself to the level she deserves and that’s not fair on her. She is bred to show jump as Selle Fraçais are, I just cannot do the big fences, whilst she can, it’s unfair of me to keep her just because I love her when she can have a successful life in somebody else’s hands. She really will thrive with a great rider. She’s been priced at 30k by a coach at a competition horses yard. However home is truly important. No vices. Not mareish in any way. An absolute star of a horse. She deserves the best because she is the best. No novices due to her being a sports horse.
