- Our lovely Dexter is looking for a knowledgeable home. This is a very reluctant sale, but due to work commitments and health issues, I have decided to try and find him the perfect home where he can go onto become a fabulous little friend for someone. I purchased him in April 2022, I have the vetting certificate should you wish to see it. On his passport states that he is four; however after having his teeth done last week, we have come to the conclusion that he is rising 4. I walk him in-hand and he is excellent with all kinds of traffic, even squeezing past a hay delivery lorry. My granddaughter has ridden him (she is only 2, can provide videos) but she is simply too small to teach him the ropes, he needs to mature first before too much is asked of him, although he loves going for his walks, ears are pricked and he strides out confidently. Its taken me 6 months to get his confidence, as when I got him he was nervous of new experiences, however he does come around especially if food is involved! He has had his back checked, been clipped, loading, teeth done, barefoot, good with farrier. He does love a job, has the most beautiful movement and would be a brilliant therapy pony as he is not at all shy on the ground and has been well-handled. Has been very straightforward to have on the yard, my granddaughter brings him in from the field (happy to be out on his own when other horses are brought in) and he happily walks wherever she takes him. He’s super sweet and a very happy little chap who deserves a home that has the experience to either bring him on consistently as I believe the more he does the better he will be, I just don’t have a small enough rider to do this. Price is negotiable and everything can be included (cub saddle, bridle, Neue Schule bit, professionally fitted by a biting expert, rugs etc).
