Meet the yard ‘go - to’
Troy is what we call our ‘go - to’ horse. We go to him to send the children out on , to round up the foals, to take the young horses out, to teach on, he’s just an absolute firm favourite!!
Troy stands at 16.1hh, 13yo, TB gelding.
Troy has raced but retired sound and happy, just lost the love for that job.
Hacking is a certain favourite of his! Hacks all day long on the buckle, alone and I’m company! Not worried by traffic, great mannerisms in open spaces. He can be a dope on a rope or you can spice him up to be more forward if that’s what the rider desires. Troy stands to be mounted , opens gates , rides and leads , and all the other handy things you may need from him!
Although requiring further education in the school, Troy does work on the bridle and willingly does your basic walk , trot, and canter and has been willing to jump small fences in the arena. He has a lot of potential in any sphere and just requires some educating.
As well as previously racing, Troy has also loved days out with the hounds.
Troy does not bite nor kick but he does make a lot of faces in the stable. You can grab him and give him kisses and he’s fine, he is not nasty!! His faces are harmless, he doesn’t require tying up to be tacked up , mucked out, etc. He is still a nice and easy horse to see to. Troy does mildly suck, this is very easily managed with a collar and something I’ve only seen him do on a very small number of occasions since being with us. Loads, travels, easy to catch, etc.
This horse certainly has a lot to give someone and should not be over looked.
Open to any inspection.
