- 16hh, 8yo Bay Gelding by Amigo B (Heartbreaker) Teddy has a super character and soul, but things don’t appear to have always worked out for him. We bought him last year for my daughter, who wanted to step up from her ex-riding school pony. We decided to move onto horses at the same time. Sadly Teddy wasn’t quite the horse we had expected, and it’s been a learning curve. It turned out that Teddy needed steroid injections in his SI joint, but we believe he must have had the discomfort for a while as, at times he was pretty nappy. He has been throughout a rehab program guided by the vet hospital and is now fit and well. But my daughter, who was thrown into the deep end as finally admitted that although she loves him dearly, she doesn’t feel confident or experienced enough to continue his education. He is much more green in the school than we expected. The nappiness did remain for a little while after rehab, but with a more confident and experienced rider who could ride him through, this virtually disappeared. But with my daughter's nerves, from a few bad falls from her other pony, she doesn’t help him, and it creeps back and then back to the same roundabout. It’s not fair to him. Teddy is a smart horse. Always complimented and moves well. Although we haven’t jumped big under saddle due to my daughter’s confidence on anything, he shows scope lunged and loose schooled. We are gutted about this sale. Teddy has become a much loved member of our family, and he just needs a lovely home to shine. So if you are looking for a new partner and are a confident and experienced rider who doesn’t mind some inconsistent napping, please check him out. If it weren’t for these issues, he would have a far higher price tag. He is super to catch and deal with. Lives in or out. Been with other geldings and mares. Loads and travels well. Currently barefoot. Fully up to date with Vaccinations, dentist and bodywork. We are sure that with the right person he will be a cracking all rounder and loves fun. Any vetting welcome.
