Description
Joey is a 13.2 (138) New Forest x Appaloosa spotted Gelding, 11 years old. Very heartbreaking sale of this one in a million pony. If you have a competitive home or want to go and win he is the pony for you. Ready to go up the competition levels. Joey is a competition pony looking for a competition home in BS or BE. He’s done NSEA, Area qualifiers, Pony Club, One Day Events. On the flat he is well established, rides in a lovely outline with 3 flashy paces. Is soft mouthed and isn’t strong. Will produce a lovely dressage test. With his very flashy, outstanding looks comes an even better attitude and personality. Showjumping and cross country is what he loves. He’s a very talented little jumper, very careful and bold towards a jump. Will turn on a sixpence, fast and nimble pony. Will jump fillers, has never put a stop in, will jump off any stride. Showjumping he is currently at heights of 90cm/95cm with lots of scope to go higher with the right rider. Cross country he has jumped round BE80 and BE90 fences. His previous achievements include: - Top 10 placing at his first ever event - 2nd in teams at NSEA - 3rd at Area Qualifiers Absolute mother’s dream to handle on the ground. Is handled daily by a petite 10 year old girl who regularly leads him in and to the field, bathing, grooming and helping tack up. No vices whatsoever on the ground. He will stable on his own, can take horses away from him and is absolutely fine. Is perfect to load and travel. Great with the farrier, physio and saddler. He loves attention and his trick is to give kisses. You can spend hours pampering and grooming him and will just stand there all day. Great to clip too. He is up to date with physio (reports can be supplied upon request), saddler, farrier, worming and injections. Joey is a through and through competition pony, he can be whizzy and forward going. He’s a pony that loves his work and thrives off it, he’s the type of pony that can have a few days off and he’s fine. Any more he can be a bit spooky. He can also throw in the odd buck, this tends to be when he is being held too tight. Never bucked in the jumping ring. Only tends to do it when doing flatwork as finds it boring. Previous owner had owned him for 4 years and we are in regular contact being aged 10/11 when she first had him. Previous owners are also happy to speak to any serious buyers. Absolutely no novices, experienced homes only. All homes will be vetted. We will also ask for any ridden videos of the person interested and any trainers which we would like to be present at viewings. We want the best home for this pony as he’s very special, rare type of pony on the current market at the moment. Has previously passed a 5* stage vetting with reports on hand Bridle and some rugs fitting for the season included Brand new Kent and Masters Jump saddle available at separate negotiation - only been used for a month and fitted by a master saddler
