- For sale Izzy , 12hh , 19 year old LR pony Sad sale of our beautiful first pony. Izzy has been there done it in most disciplines but is sadly outgrown. We are looking for another little person to love and enjoy her as much as we have. Although Izzy has taken us from lead rein to second pony status.. she has some arthritis now and we don’t think she should carry on at the same level. She’s sound and in work but given her age and the arthritis she wouldn’t pass a vetting but our vet is happy that she stays in work at a lower level. This is reflected in her price. Izzy is an angel on the ground. Happy to be climbed all over she’s never ever bitten or kicked. She’s happy to be bathed for hours and is easy in every respect. The tiny ones can lead her about like a dog, pick out her feet etc. Shes safe in her stable and in the field. She loads, she’s never spooky, she gets in with all other horses.. she really is a delight to be around. With us and her former owners who we are friends with she’s done all Pony club, beach rides, hacks alone and in company, dressage, pc camp mini and senior for the last five years. She jumps Sj/xc turns her tiny little hoofs to anything asked. However.. she can be spicy as said above and will throw the odd bucks of excitement at random times off the lead rein so isn’t an ideal FR. She struggles with her weight.. she’s only got to gaze longingly at the field and her hips get wider. We keep her on dust.. grass is not her friend.. amazingly she’s never had lami but we always err on the side of caution and count all her calories!
