- An absolute sweetheart of a pony for hacking (alone or in company), pony club, games, general cuddles, and lots of fun. Spirit has been a pony club// event pony who is slightly feeling his age and needs a bit of a step down from the higher jumps. He’s perfect on the lead rein for beginners, so may suit a parent/child share. Spirit is nicely off the leg and well schooled. He requires a soft and relaxed rider off lead rein. If the rider is tense and hauls at his mouth he will become strong so he isn’t a first pony unless he is on a lead rein. If you’re relaxed he is too and a really easy ride. He’s great to shoe, load, travel, clip, catch etc. Lives in or out, turns out with mares or geldings. Doesn’t spin, rear, nap, buck, or bite. He’s currently shod all round due to our stony ground but has had only fronts in the past and was fine. He is not fussed by traffic - we live very rurally so see tractors and large lorries. He came to us from a busy yard near Edinburgh with lots of traffic and was unphased by that. He loves to jump, hack and have a job but also does not need to be ridden every day. He requires a wonderful home where he will be adored. Anyone who has owned or ridden this pony has become very fond of him so please genuine buyers only and we would love for him to stay local. However, Spirit loves a road trip so he would easily travel further afield if necessary! He’s sound, up to date with everything, and ready to go and give someone lots of fun.
