- If happy hacking is what you like Marty is your man! He’s a 15:2 heavy cob, leg in each corner as they say.
I bought Marty to get back into riding after years off to have a family. I am a nervous rider and he has always looked after me never naughty sharp or silly.
He’s a big guy but never bolshy or nasty he’s a gentle giant.
He has a very sweet nature and will follow you around like a puppy dog.
He will walk and trot out on the road for hours and if you really want will canter across a field. I have herded sheep in from a field with other horses and he happily went at my pace and did not take off with the others.
Lives in a group of geldings but has been in mixed herds never bothers just gets on with his life.
We have lived in the town but now live rural area, he’s hacked through building sites, by motorways busy towns and now past tractors and trailers and never bothers. Used to support other ponies who are less confident around tractors.
His only vice is his front feet with the farrier, having said that we have a very kind patient farrier and is more than happy to be trimmed by him.
I am only selling him due to my own health issues and not being able to ride myself.
He is a very loved member of our herd who will only be sold to someone who can offer him the best home.
