- 15.2hh 4yo Irish Cob gelding. Top quality hunter/allrounder who will have a go at anything - sort very hard to find! Jim Doyle is a stunning model. Compact, correct, well marked and doesn't feel like you're riding a table! Potential to show as a maxi cob but has shown the aptitude to be able to try his hand at pretty much anything! Out hunting now this season and has shown himself to be a truly exceptional hunting cob - he is the one everyone always wants to take! He has a fantastic attitude to it, doesn't get silly and has been a super confidence giver for his riders this season. Confident and bold. He will happily bob along at the back if a trot and a chat is preferred but equally he has hunted right up behind the master all day and will have a go at everything he is pointed at. Will go in front or behind and has often been used to give leads to our young stallion! Always in a snaffle, not at all strong, will stand quietly when waiting and is mannerly and polite, doesn't fanny about. A fun, forward ride with just enough about him! An absolutely epic hunting cob who always draws admiring comments when he's out. Jim Doyle is showing promising work in the school but he has not had much time spent. He moves very well across all three paces and is light both on his feet and in the hand with a mouth like butter. Well balanced and obedient but green in his schooling as he has mostly been doing outside activities. A bit weak and wobbly but tries really tries hard to please, a balanced rider makes all the difference to him. Has been out and done a Prelim and with his paces and trainability he has all the potential to do a super test with the right production. He has not been over produced and has benefitted more from seeing the world out hacking, fun rides, cross country schooling and local shows to establish the basics. As a result he has a super attitude out and about away from home and is pretty unflappable. Very sweet round a course of fences and is out jumping at local shows and clear rounds. Not at all phased by fillers or different environments and he is easy to take out and about, I have taken him out on my own with a full lorry several times and he has always been super straightforward to do. Has done lots of fun rides and cross country schooling with different riders, always behaving impeccably. Has been done very sympathetically, always jumps everything first time and has schooled water, ditch and bank. Loves hacking, goes on his own or in company and really marches out. Good on the roads and in open spaces, always ridden in a snaffle. No vices or quirks, straightforward horse for a competent rider, with a personable, friendly disposition. He is a lovely boy that has been ridden here confidently by all levels of rider but has enough about him to not be an idiots ride. Serious enquiries to please call only.
