Sad sale of our beloved boy

Very sad sale of our beloved boy Joey is a 2007, 16.2hh thoroughbred. He is an ex racer but not your typical type! He is the love of my daughter’s life and she moved up to him from her 12.2hh first pony, but GCSE’s and a move to college are the reason we have made this extremely tough decision. Joey is a lovely, kind chap and benefits from a one to one relationship. He tends to prefer the ladies and is really looking for a new ‘mummy’ and a home that will love him and just want to have some fun. At 14 he’s fit and ridden regularly. Joey is an all rounder and has done quite a bit whilst he’s been with us over the last 5 years including pc rally’s, dressage, and a bit of jumping and cross country. He hacks out alone or in a small group and schools very nicely. He’s quick to learn and loves to please. Pros & cons! He is good with the farrier. Good to load…we have travelled him in an HB511 trailer and more recently a 7.5 lorry which he prefers. Sometimes needs encouragement to walk on but literally a few seconds. He can sometimes be a nervous traveler and get sweaty but nothing major. Good with the vet. Good to clip. Good to catch…unless the spring grass has sprung in which case he will try to avoid coming in! He happily lives in or out. Happy in a heard or individual turnout. He will weave occasionally but nothing major. His only real vice is that he will occasionally pull back when tied up and there is no rhyme or reason for this but we have found that using an equi-ping is the best idea & you do need to be aware. Up to date with vaccs, worming, teeth, farrier, and physio. He is very healthy but He will not pass a vetting due to splints from his racing days, but this does not affect him in any way. Very happy for buyer to see any veterinary records. Joey is a sensitive soul with a big heart and character. He needs a competent, experienced rider to understand his little ways. He is not nasty or dangerous in any shape or form he just relies on his rider for confidence at times, therefore no novices please. As mentioned, this is a very tough decision for us so absolutely NO time wasters. 5 star home only!! £4500 ono Based in Wiltshire.
