Ron is 12.2h Chestnut Welsh C. He is currently ridden by a 10 year old jockey as a first pony. Ron is a true honest and sensible pony. He's a confidence given and looks after his jockey at all times. He doesn't fizz up at all and we haven't found anything yet to spook him. He really is bomb proof and if there is a unicorn out there then it is him. Ron was bought for our daughter for confidence, she has ridden for 5 years but mainly riding school ponies. We had shared a few but she had found them a bit strong and just didnt have confidence in her handling and being the boss. Ron has given her this and more. Ron currently participates in all pony club activities: dressage, SJ, arena eventing, xc, mounted games, drill rides etc. Hes a regular at trec with a twist and attends pony camp. He's also superb out and about with water, hacking in new/routine areas, doesn't bat an eye at fillers or bright coloured wings. Happy in groups of excitable ponies at Mounted Games, not bothered by wind, rain, heat and happily lead or follow for hacking. Staying away from home he settled quickly and happy with either brick or temporary stables. Ron will stand for hours to be groomed and braided. He will lift his feet for you to be picked. Never bucked or reared with us or his previous family. He loads well and takes himself on the trailer ! Ron's only vice, and I mean only vice, is he needs to be sedated for clipping. He's great with farrier and dentist. He fidgets a bit for the vet but once they have made friends he will calm and stand nicely. He will fit into any herd and currently he is in mornings and out rest of the time. Ron is currently jumping comfortably at 60. He can jump 70 but this is becoming a bit more tricky for him. He has a general mobility supplement due to his age but in no way does act 18 years old, more like 18 years young. Ron secured his placing at Hickstead in the summer in arena eventing (4th) and SJ 50 cm and 60 cm top 20. He is always in the rosettes. He's a yard favourite for just being an all round gem of a pony which great manners. Vacs up to date, teeth done summer 22, fully shod and shoes done this week. He doesnt come with tack. Price reflects this truly great pony. Our daughter has come on so much with Ron since start of the year and he has done his job to a marvellous level, we could not have wished for better. He is now ready to bring on his next jockey. If you would like to see videos there are plenty on tiktok at sydneysponyadventures.
