15.3hh 4yo Traditional Irish Sports Horse gelding Mountain Diamond x Presenting. The one everyone is looking for! Super genuine, straightforward allrounder with the most wonderful hard-to-find nature. Truly one of a kind.
Fish has the most gorgeous character and is just the most wonderful person. There actually aren't enough superlatives to describe him! He is a real yard favourite with so much personality, everybody loves him as he is just such a sweet person. He is a truly gentle soul. Kind, genuine, quiet and giving, he can be handled by pretty much anyone and would be a great therapy horse. He really tries for you and is the horse that everybody always tells me they're looking for.
Fish has shown himself this season to be a proper ladies hunter. He has been taken out both by very nervous first timers and established regulars. Fish makes up the ground very well and easily keeps up with the front but he is also happy to sit at the back chatting and doesn't get wound up or strong. He does not get hot or silly and is always mannerly or polite. Great with the hounds and with the other horses, Fish is not phased by the environment and is a laid back, level headed sort. Mannerly and polite, will leave the field on his own when asked to and is good to get on and off for gates. One of his riders was even asked once out hunting if she could swap!
Always hunts in a snaffle with cavesson noseband and no martingale. Very good to do on and off the lorry. A fabulous ladies hunter with an old head on young shoulders.
Fish is a well put together athletic model, compact and sporty with a bit of substance. Fish has spent his 4yo year out seeing the world and doing lots of forward thinking activities rather than a lot of time in the school. However he has had the basics nicely established, produced to ride from the leg with a nice soft mouth deserving of nice hands! He is well balanced for his age, straight, obedient and forward off the aids, just weak due to lack of time spent. With his wonderful trainable willing nature he is sure to come on quickly with the right production. Has done a prelim test with very positive comments from the judges, scoring 7s for his centre lines and canter work.
Fish has done lots of fun rides, cross country schooling and hacking this year, as well as going out to local showjumping competitions. He has been ridden by many different riders of varying abilities and confidence and I would think most people would be able to ride Fish and feel safe on him, but he would be best suited to a forward thinking rider who is confident on a young horse. Although Fish would be the least scary 4yo I've ever had, he is still a young horse and I wouldn't want his chilled out, kind and gentle nature to be taken advantage of.
Hacks alone and in company, good on the roads and in open spaces. Can sometimes need a little reassurance alone as is typical of a young horse but he's not spooky, naughty or sharp.
Fish is excellent to do on the ground in every way. He is a real pet who absolutely loves to be part of the conversation and have your attention, he really loves a cuddle and thinks he's a labrador. A really sweet, loving, genuine horse who will be very much missed when he goes! Will give the right rider years of fun. We would prefer him to go to a competent rider who is confident with youngsters to allow Fish to keep progressing into the confident, kind, quality little horse he is. We would love him to go to a home where he will be cuddled and doted on and spoiled for love and attention. No vices or medical history.
