Ronnie was retired from the track at the age of 8, sound and well. He has three rhythmical paces and can walk, trot and canter on both reins maintaining a correct and balanced outline.
He has been working with a trainer and has been jumping little courses of show jumps up to 95cm, (he is not fazed by fillers), as well as a few smaller cross country jumps, has recently visited Hickstead for schooling where he tackled everything very confidently and is very careful.
During the last month he has been taking part in regular training, pole clinics and grid work sessions and now is really at a point where he needs to find a home that is going to take him on and enjoy his limitless potential, whilst also continuing to further his education. sadly due to time commitments of his owner this is something they can no longer offer him.
His trainability and attitude towards work gives a great grounding for him to work through the levels, his paces allow him to produce a very pleasing dressage test and make him perfect for the show ring.
He hacks alone or in company, can sometimes spook if unsure but has never bucked, bolted or reared. He is ridden in a snaffle bridle and snaffle bit and i've never found him to be strong. He does need a confident rider to help enable him to be his best, Ronnie is not a novice ride and is looking for a knowledgeable and caring home that will love him and take him to clinics, rides, competitions and just have fun.
Ronnie does windsuck, it doesn't tend to be as much when he's out but this has never caused him any issues. He has a very laid back attitude and isn't phased by farmyard noises on the yard and doesn't mind tractors and lorries coming past his stable regularly.
He is up to date with all wormers, vaccinations, shoeing and teeth.
Due to his very easy going attitude and willingness to please, Ronnie would suit a range of homes from showing/RC/mother daughter share/ general leisure.
Currently on a larger yard of around 14 horses having moved here for training, but before was in a quieter yard of two where he was turned out with a mare. He is happy to stay in or go out alone or with others.
Ronnie really is a super loving horse that adores company and attention.
