Mickey has been a first pony for my two kids and he excels out hacking. When out hacking he never flinches or spooks and because of that has given my kids so much confidence and I can trust him 100%. He is great on the lead rein and is equally good off of it on a hack and in open spaces.
We have taken Mickey to pony club and gymkhana and he has brought the same chilled out attitude there as he does hacking.
He is most suited to a home where he can hack out, do pony club and ride in open spaces. He is not as happy in an arena which is our reason for sale as we almost exclusively ride in an arena now due to a change in location. For that reason I would say he would be a first ridden for someone wanting a happy hacker or a lead rein pony (that would give you time to put in the schooling for when they come off the lead) but if you want to ride him in an arena immediately then he requires a more confident established rider.
