He was brought over from Ireland and I've owned him since 2yo. He has Connie, TB, ID and clydesdale in his breeding. Backed briefly at 4yo, left to mature, started under saddle this August at 5yo by respected local event rider where he was schooled and hacked around farm. Went to Sophie Seymour for introductions to pole clinics and roads with traffic as we have no traffic at home. He saw cars, trailers, vans and lorries and whilst he will need to continue getting out and about, he has built a good foundation. He has been ridden in indoor and outdoor arenas, hacked alone and in company around open fields and seen cows, and around bridleways and village lanes. Since returning home I have boxed him weekly for the past month to a local arena hire as I have no facilities at home and I am struggling to ride more than once a week with my ongoing physical issues and I am soon to have 8 mths downtime for operations. Although at the start of his ridden career, and needing more mileage under his belt, he has a willing attitude to whatever is asked of him and is a perfect blank canvas for an experienced rider to continue his education. He is comfy, moves nicely and has huge scope over a fence, he is the type that would be a nice schoolmaster in years to come. I think he would be suited to pretty much most disciplines, dressage, jumping, hunting, team chasing, showing, even side saddle etc.
Here at home he lives on a track system and paddock with large open barn in his mixed herd, but equally he loves coming into his individual stable for a chill out.
He has strong hooves and has always been barefoot. Always wormed in accordance with tests and vaccinated as required. He is ridden in a snaffle and has a soft unspoiled mouth.
He is fed on haylage and bedded on large flake shavings simply because last years poor quality hay and straw caused both me and him to cough. We have both had no coughs on haylage or large dust free shavings and I would never go back to hay and straw again for my health as well as the rest of the bunch!
Whilst away training, he was a bit itchy, however, this has not been the case in the 3yrs with me (plenty of photos available of him in different seasons with me with thick mane and tail), so I can only attribute this to him being in a different routine and environment whilst he was away. I bath him weekly in head and shoulders, groom regularly and feed him linseed and a forage plus product and apply long term fly repellent products and put him in a fly rug in Summer and he's been no trouble with me but I wanted to mention it nevertheless.
This is a private and reluctant sale of a fabulous unspoilt and much adored horse due to no fault of his own, but purely due to my own ongoing health issues and also the fact he grew bigger than I expected, so even lifting up saddles to that height is a struggle for me now! Happy to elaborate.
Open to any 5* vetting, xrays, bloods etc. Would like to stay in touch with new owner from time to time. Experienced, knowledgeable homes only who can continue his training. Absolutely no novices as I have put a lot of time, love, effort and money into this horse and I do not want him ruined by joy riders!
No timewasters or photo collectors either. Please telephone for viewings or to discuss further.
5* home only.
