This is a heart breaking decision but after owning Dinky for two years the time has now come to find him a new 🏡 where he can fulfill his potential! 🦄
Dinky is excellent to hack, will be led off another horse, not phased by traffic, buses, tractors, dogs, cows etc
We joined pony club last year and although he’s been very well behaved at rallies it’s highlighted his neeed for more schooling and generally more miles on the clock to become a true pony club first ridden.
My daughter rides him off the lead in lessons and he’s been great, occasionally can be a bit nappy/stubborn but never done anything nasty.
He’s definitely more kick than pull but once he gets going and used to his surroundings he goes forward nicely and listens to aids.
We’ve reached a point where she can’t really progress at pony club due to her not having the experience to bring him on further plus she’s outgrown him ☹️ as a lead rein / happy hacker he’s great! With his temperament am sure he’d be a cracking all rounder / riding school/ pony club pony with more consistent work.
Dinky’s plus points
🦄 Great in traffic / farm machinery
🦄 Used to dogs/ cows / children/ bikes
🦄 Done PC rallies, pleasure rides, hacking, arena hire, lessons
🦄 Boxes and travels easily (sometimes a bribe helps!)
🦄 Easy to catch, trim, dentist and clip
🦄 Loves being groomed!! He will follow you if you have a brush in your hand
🦄 Good stable manners
🦄 Nice little jump on him
🦄 Never reared, bitten, bucked, bolted
🦄 Currently living out with geldings
🦄 Up to date with jabs, teeth, dectomite, feet - Back check and physio booked this week
🦄 Very cheap to keep, lives out 24/7, bare foot, only rug when clipped
🦄 Never sick or sorry
Areas he needs to work on
❌ Not yet secure with lunging and canter transition in the school
❌ Can be fidgety to tack up, think this would change with more consistent work
❌ Can be strong on the ground where food is involved (typical greedy cob!)
5 ⭐️ home only for this little diamond 💎 as we are in no rush.
Homes will be vetted🙏🏼
