- Very sad sale of a family horse, for sale due to daughter studying for her PhD. Looking for a dressage home. ‘Garryduff Chacoa’ has natural ability and oozes class. He has an active, straight and balanced movement. He works in lovely self-carriage and is very good off the aids. Chacoa is established in all higher level movements - half passes in trot/canter, simple changes, 3/4x flying changes, mediums/collections, and started the beginnings of canter pirouettes. We’ve always felt he’s had great potential in this discipline. Chacoa has been a true all-rounder. Competed with wins up to BE Novice/ CCI-S2*, SJ up to Foxhunter and has competed BD up to Advanced-Medium. Chacoa has hunted, team-chased, been to Pony Club Camps and Championships. We are looking for someone who wants to peruse a career in flatwork as he as always excelled in the dressage phase eventing and scored well at BD. Chacoa has so much ability over a fence but has always been inconsistent, there’s no reason why a potential new owner couldn’t jump/hunt Chacoa we just don’t feel it would be right to market him for that type of home and would prefer for him to go to a solely dressage home as we know this is what he enjoys most. In 2019 Chacoa competed regularly British Dressage, qualifying for Regionals and Area Festivals at Elementary regularly scoring late 60s/early 70s. Out eventing he nearly always scored sub-30 and was in the lead after the dressage, his best score being 18.3 at Novice level (equivalent to 86.7%). Chacoa has been to many events with large atmospheres and has always risen to the occasion and kept a cool head. Chacoa would suit and older or younger rider, he was on lease to a teenager for 2020-2022 doing a variety of things including qualifying for Open Pony Club Dressage Championships in 2022. Chacoa gained his qualifying scores for Elementary Summer Area Festivals 2023. Chacoa went out to a BD Competition this week (8th August 2023) having not been in the ring for a few months and won both his tests, with 67% at Elementary and 69% at Medium.
