Kenny was bought to give our son show jumping experience and we have owned him for three years.
Kenny is quick against the clock and hasn’t been over jumped or worked due to my son balancing his rugby with riding. My son’s interest has dwindled and so has his efforts with Kenny. Therefore I have made the decision for my son and in the interests of Kenny, to find this competitive pony an experienced jumping home. To be honest, Kenny has babysat my son too long and now needs to step back up to competitive competition work.
Kenny is 14. If my daughter was older and more established in her riding we would have kept Kenny. It seems unnecessary to keep him in a field for 4 years to wait for my daughter to grow.
To date this year Kenny has earned £97 BS winnings and 67 points with my son. He has qualified for the Bronze League 138cm & Under Final lying 47th in the SW league and Winter Individual Schools 80cm Final.
Kenny is an easy pony to do on the ground, lives in or out and always eager to spring up the ramp to his next show. He is happy standing on his own at shows, good to shoe, dentist, clip, tack up. We have not had any reason to call the vet ( apart from routine jabs) since owning Kenny. As a busy mum, I keep Kenny fit in the week by leading Kenny off my horse and he will happily hack alongside for hours.
Kenny is not a novice ride. He is a through and through competition pony from the moment you get on and only for a child who has had previous experience of a seriously competitive pony.
My son is now at college and playing rugby so Kenny needs to find a new competitive partner to go to shows with and have the individual love and time he deserves.
