- 🌩️ Thunder 🌩️ 3yo 14.3/15hh Gelding. Thunder is an absolute pleasure to have on the yard and has the perfect amount of talent, trainability and character to go far in any discipline. His temperament alone is what everyone looks for in a pony, he’s laid back and has proven so easy to handle in every circumstance so far. He hasn’t been rushed or pushed, working a couple of times a week. He is happily walking, trotting and hacking under saddle and he improves with every ride. He has also been ridden by an 8 year old in walk and trot. He is brave on our busy roads and hacks with friends or on his own. We live near a main road and plenty of farms so he has been exposed to a lot of different things. He has also been ridden round our fields, which is next to a motorway, and has taken it all in his stride. He has been ridden over coloured poles and later this year we will start to pop over small jumps and ask him to work in a basic outline/try some lateral work. He is good to catch, groom, tack up, load (in a trailer and lorry) and with the farrier/dentist/vet. He lives out with mares and geldings and is also happy to chill in the stable. With all that being said, he is only a 3 year old so is still green and learning. He is kind, smart and willing but due to his age, wouldn’t be suitable for a novice. He would suit a small adult or a mother/child share (with a competent child). He is ready for someone to put their stamp on him and take him out to see more of the world. He is naturally balanced, has great paces and good conformation. He will be a fabulous allrounder/ family pony with his attitude or indeed could step up in a competitive home to do grass roots.
