- Lough Melvin Venus by the amazing Lough Melvin Paddy. Venus is an original Connemara with excellent bloodlines. Bred for temperament, this pony is your best friend and loves people. Will come straight over to you in the field, easy to catch, good as gold to shoe, load, bath and clip and will stand and be pampered all day long. She’s basically a dog that looks like a pony. We’ve owned her since she was 3, she has never kicked or bitten and is even happy for 3 year old kids to climb all over her. Initially bought for my nervous daughter who starts her A Levels in September, hence reason for sale. Venus is excellent in the most heaviest of traffic and really looks after her rider. She is never silly or spooky and is soft in the mouth with good breaks, she really is the safest pony we’ve ever had and doesn't bat an eye. More wohhh than go. She has done numerous fun rides, outings in the trailer, Kelsall gallops, clinics, dressage competitions, hacks out regularly in company or alone, Boxing Day hunt with large crowds and hunted for the last 2 seasons. She hasn’t done much jumping due to having a nervous rider but is keen when I (mum) take her hunting. She’s registered as 14.2 but is slightly over, nearly 14.3. She steps it up for a better rider and is happy to take it easy for a novice or nervous rider. We will be very sad to see her go, absolute gem. Comes with her made to measure Black Country saddle and bridle. Ideal mother/daughter share. Vaccinations, feet and teeth up to date. Shod on front 2 only. The yard favourite. N/N for hoofwall. Registered with the Connemara Pony Society. Would be ideal for novice or RDA. £9,000
