Description: Oldenburg Bay Mare | 9 years | 16hh • Eye-catching presence • Flashy, expressive paces • Low mileage with careful, correct production Alpha is a striking and talented mare who I bought unbacked as a 4-year-old and have produced carefully with the support of a professional dressage trainer. She’s competed lightly at unaffiliated and affiliated Prelim/Novice level and has shown real potential to progress through the levels—she has the movement, trainability, and engine for it. Alongside her dressage work, Alpha enjoys jumping and is currently schooling around 80–90 cm with enthusiasm and boldness. She’s even had a go at cross-country, which she loved. She’s a true performance horse with a great work ethic and a fun, forward-thinking ride. That said, Alpha is not a novice ride. She thrives with a confident, experienced rider—ideally someone with a biomechanical and empathetic approach to training. She is sensitive and intelligent, and on occasion, particularly when her hormones are at play, she can be more expressive under saddle. She is currently on Regumate, which helps keep her more comfortable and consistent. She hacks happily in company (especially up front) but can be anxious alone. On the ground, she’s a sweetheart—affectionate, easy to handle, and loves attention. Alpha has never been lame in my care. Teeth, vaccinations, and worming are all up to date. She does have four small sarcoids, which do not interfere with tack and are currently just monitored. Open to vetting at buyer’s expense. I’m also open to a long-term loan (or loan with a view to buy) to stay at current yard, where she has ongoing access to the support of my dressage trainer.
