Description
Imperial Lord (Fred) 8yo TB Gelding 16.2 Raced National Hunt until early ‘23, retired sound, no injuries. Suitable for ROR. Beautifully bred: Imperial Monarch (Gallileo). I’ve had him since June ‘23 and done loads of hacking, raised poles, light schooling to strengthen and fatten him up. Was just about to get him going to shows when I tore my knee cartilage. Not a novice ride as he has a cheeky spook in him but never malicious. No bucking/rearing. He’s been hacked out by a Para rider and good as gold. Hacks in front or behind. Not silly. Good in traffic. XC schooled end of last year - water, drops, ditches no problem. Now showing promise over the SJ as he gets stronger on the flat. Won his first time out Dressage last week and behaved impeccably. Stood nicely on the lorry. Lovely to handle, a real pet. Good to load, hot shoe, lunge, and clip. Lives out mainly at the moment but was stabled at night over winter and no problems. Can be left in the field on his own. Has gnawed a few poles but no crib/windsuck. Passed my 5 stage vetting in June ‘23 and he had a recent check with my vet (normal flexions and x-ray spine). This horse is showing some real class. I’ve taken him slowly to get him strong and he’s now ready to go out and compete. Beautiful natural paces, very balanced canter, and a careful jump. Absolutely gutted to sell him but likely I will need knee surgery and rehab for 12weeks. Would suit ambitious amateur with limited budget and an understanding that his education and strength are not quite complete.
