Harvey is simply stunning being chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail, he catches everyone’s eye wherever he goes. He is 15.3hh, 6 years old and is a Welsh section D.
To jump Harvey is careful and brave, jumping both SJ and XC fences. He always tries so hard and really wants to please his rider. He has recently done his first show which was a BS club show and jumped clear in the 80cm placing 5th. He has also been out combined training coming 4th place in the 80cm and jumped a clear round doing the 90cm jumping section only. He has enough scope for bigger tracks. Every time out Harvey has received many compliments from onlookers.
We think Harvey will be a fantastic prospect for the badminton grassroots classes. Equally he would make a fantastic riding club horse.
He moves beautifully and is very rhythmical in his paces, he works well in a frame. He has done his first dressage test to score 61%. He went a little green and unbalanced, to be expected for his first time but with a few more outings and a bit more strength and balance he is easily capable of the higher scores.
Harvey has been XC schooling at all the local venues, jumping everything including ditches, the water and skinnies. He has done multiple busy fun rides with the owners small daughter, always behaving perfectly and jumping everything. Harvey has also participated in lessons, clear rounds, arena hires and riding club clinics with both mum and small daughter.
Harvey is good to hack in both open spaces and in traffic, alone and in company. He has been a true mother daughter share, with workload increasing in school holidays and a relaxed life during term time where he was ridden if either had the time behaving no matter how long between rides. Sadly Harvey is just too big for the daughter who has her own 14.2hh pony which she’s not going to grow out of any time soon. And mum just doesn’t have the time to help keep daughters pony fit and for Harvey. He has been in the same home since he was 2 and was slowly and carefully produced with his future in mind. No expense has been spared. Regular physio, up to date with teeth, vaccs and worming. Harvey is good to shoe, clip and load.
Only quirk is Harvey prefers to live out overnight, he is regularly stabled during the day, but happy to stay out also. Harvey has grown up living out all his life so this is all he knows. We would like to find a home where he will predominantly be able to live out. Harvey enjoys the company of other horses and has lived in a big herd of 15+ horses but also can be turned out on his own.
Harvey was broken in professionally by myself, then came back the following year to further his education with regards to jumping and gain experience doing his first outings. (Videos from this time are available on the same YouTube channel) Afterwards I have continued to ride him occasionally for his owner.
Harvey will come with his professionally fitted fairfax bridle and wardrobe. His professionally fitted Erreplus EM event monoflap saddle is available separately. Current owner wishes to stay in touch. Seen at livery.
