Description
148 cm Appaloosa 9 year old gelding Irish passport REDUCED PRICE FOR QUICK SALE Snaffle mouthed, good to hack, shoe, clip and box and has got a Bs record up to foxhunter. He is not a project he just needs to have his behaviour addressed. Now for the complete truth in an advert, he came in as a swap for one of My unbroken ponies, I tried to do as much homework on him as possible but I’m in a position where for the ponies benefit he needs someone to be aware from the start. He has beautiful paces and schools very nicely however he has displayed rearing and tantrums when either not wanting to go a certain way or when wanting to approach a jump. He needs a stronger rider to put him right with correct aids and to try to get this behaviour right. (You will need some time and patience) I’d rather be honest and find him the right home rather than put anyone else in the position I’m now in where it wouldn’t be possible to have young children who aren’t competent try him and take him home. My jockey is capable rider but has had too many knocks recently to want to perservere. I have videos of What he does for people to see. He is a total bargain for his capabilities but due to other ponies and time we can’t carry on. When he has gone nicely he has a very nice correct scopey jump and I have also previously seen this with another jockey on videos. We do know from conversations he has had this behaviour ironed out with a previous jockey and this is solely behavioural and not pain related. He is not strong but is a competition pony so needs someone who can ride him accurately as can get excited when jumping. He has developed some very bad habits he has learnt to drop in and I feel that he needs a bit of time to iron out but that’s reflected in his price for his quality. He also had a previous injury (does not affect his performance) but visible scar, again reflected in his price. The injury didn’t happen with us, so limited details on it and knowledge. He is good to handle on the ground and very sweet and affectionate, he has lovely paces and schools very easily, he just gets very excited and a bit opinionated with jumping (being totally honest so no novices) Price reflects all of the above however he has got a fantastic jump And ability.
