Description: ARCHIE | 16hh | 9yo | Bay Irish Gelding 🐴 For sale on behalf of a friend, Archie is a super loving, kind horse seeking a knowledgeable, understanding home where he can continue to thrive. Archie has spent most of his life as a happy hacker. He came over from Ireland around a year ago, where he worked in a trekking centre, giving him a solid background out hacking. He is very content following along with a companion and enjoys being out in the countryside. Since then, he has been kept at a private home with only a donkey for company, which hasn’t suited him, and we feel he would benefit from a more social yard environment. He will hack alone but does take confidence from his rider, so would suit someone happy to give him reassurance when needed. In the past , Archie has hunted, taken part in fun rides, and done some unaffiliated jumping. I’m sure he would happily pop a small course of show jumps or enjoy some low-level cross-country. While he’s done a bit of everything in the past, he hasn’t worked in an arena for some time, so will need time to bring him back up to speed. Archie can be a little wary of new people initially and benefits from a calm, patient approach. Once he knows you, he settles well but needs to build a trusting relationship first. He would suit someone looking for a safe and enjoyable hacking partner, or a rider willing to put in some groundwork to develop him further. With time and consistency, he has the potential to make a lovely low-level riding club horse. Archie is currently hacking fit and is settling well into a more consistent routine and yard life. A genuine horse with plenty to offer in the right hands. Not a first horse or novice horse only due to the fact he takes a lot of confidence from his rider. Tack and rugs available to be negotiated separately.
