Description: For sale - Basil Basil is a 5 y/o connemara approx 15.1hh. I bought Basil 5 months ago as a newly backed horse, to bring on, but I have encountered some problems. I rode him when I first bought him, but since then he has developed a strong fear of being mounted and I havn't been able to get on board. In hand we have made lots of progress, but he is too powerful and I am not equipped to deal with his explosiveness when I try to get on. I have done lots of long-reigning and lunging with other horses and alone and he doesnt get fizzy or hot. He happily lunges over poles and pops a jump with lots of scope. He is very sweet on the ground and will happily stand and be bathed/groomed. He is not phased by farm machinery either. Basil is an absolutely stunning horse and moves beautifully, but he needs someone who is able to deal with him and maximise his potential. Please be clear that he needs a very experienced person to bring him on as I would hate for him to be moved around. I bought him to keep forever, but he is just too much for me.
