- Description
- 14 years old 15.2 Welsh D x TB black gelding bold & brave. Sad sale, unfortunately my eldest daughter has decided to give up riding & he would be wasted for my youngest daughter as she isn’t as gutsy and confident as my eldest.
Bentley is a super fun horse, such great character, beautiful looking who thrives off his work. Will take you over any jump even if you mess your stride, whether your trotting over a small course or jumping as big as 1.20m he will take you round. The very forgiving type when ridden. Both my girls absolutely love riding him, his trot and canter is lovely. To ride he is safe as, nothing phases him. Great to hack alone and in company happy to go first or last. Passes machinery and buses with no fuss.
Was jumping 1.20m with previous owner and has been jumping 70-80cm with us.
He lives on a working farm so is used to tractors, quads, sheep, cows, dogs etc.
on the ground he can be strong at times and sometimes his ground manners aren’t the best but I do feel this is purely because he’s not been in regular work with it being winter as the last couple of weeks he’s improved but with a firm rider/handler this wouldn’t be an issue as my eldest sorts him out . He’s a saint to ride and a novice can ride him but he does need an experienced owner purely to keep on top of his ground manners. I believe once he’s back into regular work and turn out is better he will be so much better. He isn’t a horse that loves to be fussed and pampered all the time he just likes to get on and do his job. Although occasionally he will like a fuss on his terms.
Perfect for an experienced rider to get out this spring/summer and enjoy as he’s ready to go. We bought him for both my daughters but he’s too strong on the ground for my youngest she’s only
10 and with my eldest giving up I feel he will be better going to another home for someone else to enjoy.

Good to bath
He is abit fidgety
Currently stabled at night, out during the day. And out 24/7 in spring/summer, although he would happily live out 24/7 with access to a shelter.
Can sometimes be abit difficult to load so we load him with a support head collar. Other times he loads straight away. He needs a firm person to load him. Once he’s on the trailer he’s happy and travels fine, he’s not bothered by the trailer he just try’s to take the mick where possible.
Only the best home for him, I wasn’t expecting to be selling him but I feel this is best all round . Please only serious enquiries only, no dealers, no loans. £6,800
Can come with nearly brand new saddle bridle, rugs all at an extra cost saddle is only 3 months old and it’s a beautiful saddle.
I have put as much information in this advert, please no time wasters.
Happy to answer any further questions but serious enquiries only.
