Description: Big friendly giant! 17h 6yr Irish Draught gelding. Beautiful stamp of a horse with plenty of bone and a loveable temperament. Albert is adorable and has lovely manners both ridden and on the ground. He can easily be handled by your non-horsey other half. He happily comes to you in the field and stands perfectly to be shod, clipped, bathed and plaited. Albert would suit either a lady or gentleman rider, being a thickset horse and a good weight carrier. He is easy to ride and is ridden in a simple snaffle for all activities, other than having a go in the double bridle for showing. He has undertaken a little of all activities, to include dressage, showing, jumping, hacking and pleasure rides and always turns heads and receives lovely comments wherever he goes. Albert is brilliant in open spaces and loves having a canter along with other horses. He will happily follow behind so is an ideal horse for fun rides and hunting. He will hack on his own or in company. He will happily go first, last or in the middle of a group. He isn’t clingy or kicky and is good with opening gates, dogs and all other types of farm animals. He is also very friendly with my little boy who loves helping out at the yard. Albert loads straight on the wagon and I often take him out and about on my own. He also happily stands on the wagon on his own at shows, so you can go off and leave him whilst you have a look round. He is currently on a small yard and is happy to come in on his own or be left in the field on his own. He is very easy and low maintenance to deal with. Given the weather he is currently living out, but happily stables with no vices. He isn’t ridden every day and having days off has no effect on his behaviour. Albert’s breeding isn’t recorded in his passport, however, he was born and bred fairly locally in Yorkshire and is by the Irish Draught stallion, Touchstone Silver Laughton, who stands at Landcliffe Shires. I’m sure the stud would be happy to verify if required. Albert is a loveable, friendly and genuine horse. He is up to date with everything, including vaccinations, and is ready for someone to go out and enjoy. Based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
