Description: Duchess – beautiful 10 year-old 16.2hh ISH dark bay mare, sadly only for sale due to financial circumstances and lack of facilities at home. Duchess has successfully evented at 2*/ novice with 80 Foundation Points and 4 total points. She has show-jumped at 1.20 (Fox) and does a beautiful dressage test. I have owned Duchess for 18 months and in this time have focused on dressage with her. She has 3 big athletic paces with a natural ability to collect. She is very trainable and finds lateral work easy. She is snaffle mouthed with a soft contact and easy off the leg. There is no reason why Duchess could not go out eventing again with the right rider and time to get her jumping fit but equally would suit a dressage home with someone who wants a quality horse to take up the levels. Duchess is excellent to take out by yourself, loading and standing nicely by the lorry. She is good to shoe, clip, and catch and has no vices. She is up to date with her vaccinations, teeth, physio and osteopath. She has been stabled on a small livery yard, a very busy stud farm and is now at home with my other three horses and she takes all these different environments in her stride. You can leave Duchess for a few weeks and then get on her, and she is as good as gold. She hacks out in company and by herself but very occasionally can have the odd nap. She is good in traffic. Duchess would best suit a capable and confident adult rider who wants a quality horse to enjoy and to go out to clinics and competitions. Duchess passed a five-stage vetting when I bought her with x rays and is open to vet. Home is of paramount importance as I want to find Duchess her forever home where her new owner can further her training and form a strong bond and partnership. We are based near Stamford/Burghley, Lincs. Please no timewasters, novices, children off ponies, dealers or joyriders as this is a difficult sale. £15k negotiable to the right home.
