Description
Irish Sports Pony – Chestnut – Mare – Recently turned 20 years – 13.2 hands (Buntingford, Herts) • Pony club pony of the year • Experienced competition jumper & XC Eventer • Competed in multiple national teams It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to say goodbye to Bambi after buying her in Junary this year. We thought that she would be the ideal step up for my 10yo daughter, but her confidence and experience levels aren’t quite there yet - if we could wait another year and make the transition then, we definiately would as she’s a super star! The previous owners had Bambi (Little Miss Attitidue) for over 8 years and, in that time, she helped their two daughters (from the ages of 9-12) to grow in condidence and experience. They were part of an Essex Pony Club, where Bambi was awarded pony club of the year, and took part in multiple eventing, dressage, mounted games and showjumping rallies and competitions. Bambi helped their eldest daughter start on her British showjumping journey, jumping at Nationals & being chosen to jump every year for Essex British show jumping academy teams across the country. She has competed & been placed on every team for pony club and was always in ribbons. Bambi has taken part in multiple pony club camps, junior and intermediate, little lodge holidays, beach rides & hacks, alone or in company. In multiple X-country events she was ‘super brave and loved it’. They took her around numerous courses, jumping trekanas, tables, water areas & steps. In terms of show jumping, she took their daughters from 50cm to 85/90cm. With us, Bambi jumps anything from 30cm-90cm – as soon as she sees a jump, you can tell that she loves it and she ‘comes alive’! While Bambi has been with us, she has been easy to load, is good with the farrier and likes to be around other ponies. She is happy to hack out alone or in company – when in company, she likes to go at the pace of the fastest other pony/horse and definitely likes to run, when given the opportunity! We have taken her to open SJ events and she has performed like a dream – no problems in the warm up arena, jumped 70cm + with no fault points, earned some rosettes and loved it! She’s a true competition pony. A professional instructor has been schooling her on a weekly basis, to maintain her fitness and suppleness, my 10yo daughter has had weekly lessons with instructors and myself and my 14yo niece have also been riding her, so she has been kept busy! We have photos & videos to share from these activities and the previous owners would be more than happy to share other photos & videos from the multiple competitions and events their daughters attended over the years. She was well known to the Essex PC instructors, as well as to PWPC – references can be shared if useful. Bambi is not a kick along 1st pony, she is a 2nd pony for a confident rider (child or small adult), who wants a pony with a bit of ‘spirit’. She is a natural competition pony that loves her job, but she has gears for her new best friend to work through. When we bought her, we were a bit worried about her age, but she certainly doesn’t act like a (just turned) 20 yo – she is still defininately ‘good to go’. She is used to a quiet, well balanced rider, quiet hands & secure leg as Bambi is a ‘squeeze, not a kick’ type of pony. Her rider needs to be relatively secure in their seat as a wandering leg means ‘go faster’! Many more videos & photos can be sent to anyone who enquires with genuine interest, either by ourselves and/or through the previous owner. She will come with tack & wardrobe and is for sale for £6300. Please message me (Sian Lewis) on 07790 345967 for more information.
