This handsome 5yr old is looking for a new š” he is part bred Welsh with recorded breeding. Passported, up to date with teeth, hoof trim, vaccinations and worming.
Currently standing at a full up 14.2hh
We bought Jacko as a 2yr old in the hope he would mature into a riding school horse. He has been brought on slowly but sadly our circumstances have now changed and we are unable to keep him.
Jacko is a special pony who prefers a routine.
Good bits āļø
Jacko hacks alone and in company, infront or behind. Heās not strong and has been hacked in a headcollar. Heās not fazed by traffic and has been hacked alone down busy roads. He loves the hose and is good for the farrier (currently barefoot). He loves to be fussed and groomed.
He has popped a couple of jumps in the arena, and happily pops a log out hacking.
Heās green in the arena and ONLY popped a jump to see if he liked it, which he did.
No so good bits
Jacko was a little nibbly and bargy in the stable so he has been away to a lovely professional lady who has worked on his ground manners, whilst also taking him on lots of hacks.
He was settled in an all gelding herd, but does seem to like spending time with mares, and has gone through fencing (at a previous yard) when only turned out with geldings (though it was when a storm was due so may have unsettled him). Heās not done this whilst heās was away (in a mixed herd) nor since heās been back with us (paired turnout with a mare and previously paired turnout with a gelding - though he took one line of weak electric out when on his own one night).
Heās NOT riggy and has never been seen to mount or show any riggy behaviour whatsoever.
He prefers company, whether in a field, stable or tied on the yard, though he will tie on the yard on his own, he just fidgets to begin with.
Heās green in the arena, as he has mostly hacked.
Due to his age and us wanting to bring him on slowly, he hasnāt done much in the arena, so is green, particularly in canter. He can throw a buck, though we believe this to be due to being a baby, as he doesnāt buck when hacking.
We are not dealers and he is only looking for a new person to love him due to an unexpected change in our circumstances.
Please only get in contact if you are experienced with youngsters. He thrives on routine and a gentle, but firm (must be kind) handling. When he understands his boundaries, heās a dream.
We believe this pony would be suited to an experienced teenager or small adult.
He seems to be able to turn his hoof to anything, so he will be whatever you make of him.
No loans or trials, unless this is done at his current yard in Chobham (GU24)
